You've probably noticed by now that this blog hasn't updated in a while. And I deeply apologize for that.
I did have a review lined up for January, but there was a problem with it that has faced so many others I've tried to do - since getting my current laptop in 2012, I have learned that certain DVDs of these films won't play on it so it's been quite difficult getting images of it to make funny captions for. And it's such a nuisance looking up clips on YouTube. On top of that, I've been busy with other things - I've also got a comic to do, plus I've spend the last few months looking for a permanent job. Couple this with outright laziness and now you know why it's been dead around here.
PCVB will return sometime in March. I've found a video of a TV special recently and I shall update with that.

Censorship Makes Me Vomit
Two bills are in Congress right now - the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) - which could change the entire foundation of the Internet forever.
While their sponsors' hearts are in the right place - piracy is bad and copyright protection is good - their ways to go about it are a tad Draconian. These bills would have the U.S. Government hold Website services owners liable for their users' activities and force them to police themselves regarding the content that their visitors put up, something many of them don't have the time or the resources to do. They would greatly reduce the legal rights of Internet hosts and could shut down entire Websites for something as minor as a simple picture that someone found to be infringing. Even a review blog like this one would be at risk if any random employee at a movie studio stumbled onto it and got the wrong impression.
Basically, it's like getting rid of weeds in your garden by dousing your entire yard with weed killer - you risk exterminating every living thing down to its roots, and the weeds will just grow back anyway.
Already SOPA and PIPA face overwhelming opposition, but they're not dead. So get educated, contact your friends and your Congress representatives and defend your Constitutionally-mandated freedom of speech, the very thing without which there would be nothing to have copyright laws for.
Protecting intellectual property is important, but not at the risk of taking away everybody else's rights to express themselves.
UPDATE: SOPA is dead in the House, but PIPA is still alive in the Senate. Let's keep the word spreading that it does more damage than it heals.

Status Report
Apologies for the lack of updates in December. I did have a movie in mind for Christmas, but it was checked out of the library all last month and I couldn't get it in time to review it. Trust me to rent a Christmas movie when everyone else is renting Christmas movies. On top of that, it's been a very hectic second half of 2011 for me--family trips on Thanksgiving AND Christmas, relatives coming to visit, losing two grandfathers within two months of each other. Too much stuff going on coupled with an occasional lack of motivation have seen this blog and my comic suffer.
Plus, I think I need a new laptop...the adapter's acting up and the battery can't hold a charge anymore...
I will update for January - I've got my next six or so laid out in advance, and some other ones will come along as they normally do. Those of you who've been reading since the beginning or somewhere along the way and those who have only just found this blog - keep reading and happy 2012. These next few movies should be loads of fun to watch, in both the sincere and sarcastic sense. :)

Welcome to PCVB!
You see them on the streets.
You find them illegally uploaded on YouTube.
You buy them on the under-$10 shelf at Best Buy.
They are the cult classics, the B features, the things you "just have to see to believe".
You can't find them on TV very often these days. They're too far out of the mainstream to turn up on anyone's radar. Many of them don't show up on video shelves because movie companies are too lazy/embarrased/concerned with financial or copyright issues to care.
A lot of these films and things you only hear about in review sites such as this and are so rare that the odds of watching them are practically next to a heartbeat away from virtually nil.
Well, lucky for all of us, there are review sites such as this.
Well, that wasn't much of an introduction, but I can promise reviews which are researched to the best of my abilities, and maybe if we're lucky, of movies which not very many of these review sites have covered.
So sit back, relax, and drown in the obscurity.
